The Pursuit of Incorporation

 Press Release

The Citizens of Bellevue are pursuing incorporation of the Bellevue community.

This effort started in late summer of 2014, and the team of volunteer citizens is well organized and interested in the preservation and enhancement of the Bellevue quality of life. What makes this such a sound proposal is that we will have a city on a solid foundation when completed with high quality services and infrastructure.

There has been little publicity surrounding the incorporation movement due to the complex process of achieving it. The plan over the last eight months has always been to first complete the initial planning and collecting of data necessary to determine the feasibility of incorporation, and then follow up with public announcements that the effort is underway.

Our first formal presentation was planned for May 4, when the incorporation team was to appear before the Lamar County Board of Supervisors to provide a status of the incorporation effort. Unfortunately, the collection of data by the professional staff regarding all facts and figures of the incorporation will not be completely accomplished by May 4, 2015. Therefore, our May 4 presentation to the Lamar County Board of Supervisors is being postponed. Within approximately four (4) weeks, the team should be ready to put all the facts, figures, and plans on the table for the public. Most assuredly we are working to protect not only our life style and value of our homes, but also the aesthetics of the Highway 98/589 commercial corridor which will greatly impact the value of the surrounding properties.
